ABOUT US
My husband and our families have been on the land for eight generations. We are all well acquainted with drought and difficult conditions. For many years we had on average less than 30% of our annual rain fall. Life is often testing not just from drought and dust. Floods, heat waves, insects, mouse plagues and so on, are often just around the corner. But as you can see from the ‘treasured glimpses’ we are now sharing, being on the land is also amazingly beautiful and very rewarding.
Over the years while waiting for the school bus, the mailman, a change of horses, walking cattle to the yards, during smoko etc. (in my spare time!) I have captured many glimpses of our life and land, its beauty and its harshness. We now hope to turn these into yet another viable resource, produced from our land.
SORRENTO SONLIGHT
“Sorrento Sonlight” was created originally as Photos For Feed by our family in 2019, seeking respite from the drought. Our property and home is on the Narran River in North West NSW. Since the wonderful rain of 2020 seasons have constantly fluctuated from good to bad. Photography though has remained something I really love, with one of my prints chosen for advertising by “Drought Angels” and another four being shortlisted in the Outback Archies.
We’ve changed the name of this adventure to Sorrento Sonlight ie. The constants of our lives are our Sons, the treasured Light the Girls in their lives bring us, Sunlight and Sorrento. Each “precious glimpse” has been captured by me, on or close by our properties and all stockmen depicted are family members.
So if you are looking for something a little different, unique and truly Australian, for corporate gifts, personal gifts or as a feature for your own home or office, all scenes depicted (and more) are available for your selection. We can also help with other ideas or colour schemes etc. Just ask via “contact us” if you have something particular in mind and we shall do our very best to help you. Prints are available in A1/A2/A3/A4 on Canvas or Satin Paper Prints. Framing or mounting can be arranged.
